5 WAYS WE ARE DIFFERENT FROM A 'REGULAR' GYM
From the outside looking in, Core Training probably looks quite like a conventional, big box gym. We have a room filled with various weights and exercise equipment, we have that familiar ‘rubbery’ smell from said exercise equipment, we blast out pop and dance music throughout the day, and people come to our studio to train and exercise. However, we believe that is where the comparison ends. In every other meaningful way, we consider ourselves very different from a ‘regular’ gym – and here are 5 of the most important reasons why:
WE ACTUALLY CARE IF YOU SHOW UP.
Every member at Core Training is signed up to a monthly subscription, giving them access to a certain number of classes and sessions per month. While it’s up to them to book themselves in, we take notice of who is and isn’t showing up – so if one of our members hasn’t been in for a week or so, you can be sure we will be getting in touch to check in with them, make sure they’re ok, and get them back into the studio as soon as is possible for them. We don’t want our members to be missing out on their sessions – we want them in the gym, working towards their goals.
WE KNOW ALL OUR MEMBERS
One of the advantages of being a small, independent gym, and thus having a much smaller membership, is that it allows us to know and engage with all our members on a personal level, every single day. We know their goals, their training level, and what’s going on in their lives that could affect their training. This makes it easier for us to adjust their training, and tailor all their sessions to them and their current needs – increasing the chances of successfully reaching their goals.
WE TAKE CARE OF ALL THE PLANNING
It’s true! At Core Training, we only offer coached services to members. This means that all our members have to do is show up, put on their trainers and give the workout their best effort – and we take care of the rest. We plan their programs, track the weight they are lifting, and even plan out any ‘homework’ they might have. For people with full, busy lives, it means one less thing to worry about, and only one thing to focus on: enjoying their workout.
THERE’S NO ‘SCARY’ WEIGHTS SECTION
For one thing, the whole studio is the weights section (no banks and banks of treadmills and ellipticals here)! More importantly, though, there’s no intimidation factor when walking into the studio. Every piece of equipment is for every member, and so is every exercise. For a lot of people, gyms can be intimidating – and there’s nothing scarier than walking over to the weights area - where everyone looks like they know what they’re doing, with intense expressions on their faces – when you are new to training and lifting weights.
That doesn’t happen at Core Training – we have a community of friendly members that make every newcomer feel welcome from the second they step through the door. Our ‘thing’ is resistance training, so all of our members are confident and capable of using any strength equipment – and feeling great when doing so.
WE ARE INVESTED IN YOUR RESULTS
At Core Training, we are dedicated to our members, and helping them to achieve the goals and results that they want. That’s why, as you’ve read above, we spend time getting to know our members, put time, effort, and research into designing their programs, and make sure that they are consistently showing up to sessions.
We want to provide an incredible experience to all our members – and part of that is them seeing progress and achieving the goals they set when they sign up with us. All our members know the work we put into helping them achieve their desired result, and that we care about said result.
Now, none of this is to say there is anything wrong with conventional, big box gyms. They are the perfect fit for many people; and we support any business which promotes physical activity and exercise. However, we know that we can provide a far more personal service to anyone who signs up with us – characterized by our coaches who truly care about every one of our members. So, if you feel that you need a more tailored service, and a coach who keeps you on track and accountable to your goals, then we’d recommend foregoing the ‘regular’ gyms, and coming and seeing us instead.
